On 8th October, 2011..I with my wife Rajam and son, Rajeev visited Cheruvattath House (Our erstwhile home) at Ethanur. I collected a few black and white photographs from Devi, my cousin and clicked with my camera on them to take the pictures of the photographs. The photos belonged to an era of yesteryears, to a nostalgic past. I have made a slide show of those photographs. When you look at them, you will realize how time had elapsed mercilessly.
WHEN REWOUND TO PAST THE PAIN FELT IS SOME TIMES COMFORTABLE BECAUSE WE ARE INSTANTLY CARRIED AWAY TO THE SPOT WHERE SOME EVENTS MAKE US JOYFUL TO OVERFLOW OUR HEARTS AND EYES AND YET SOME OTHERS MAKE US DISTURBING. THAT FOTOGRAF OF SASIYETTAN WITH VALIYAMMA WAS TAKEN JUST AFTER HIS SHORT STAY AT GOA WHERE HE SAID HE SPENT SOME WONDERFUL DAYS. WHEN HE REACHED VIYYUR HE SHAVED OFF HIS MOUSTACH AND ASKED ME TO TRIM HIS HAIR TO A RECORD LOW LENGTH!!!! I STILL REMEMBER THAT DAY AT VIYYUR. AFTERWARDS WE TOOK SO MANY FOTOS WITH THE CONVENTIONAL CAMERA. I TOO POSED WITH VALIYAMMA IN SOME OF THOSE SNAPS.
ReplyDeleteAND ALSO 7.7.77 WAS MISSING FOR ME BECAUSE I WAS NOT PRESENT FOR THE MARRIAGE. AT THAT TIME I WAS AT BOMBAY HUNTING FOR A JOB AFTER A LONG WAIT AT KERALA. SO MANY THINGS FLASHED OFF SEEING YOUR FOTOS. THANKS A LOT UNNIYETTAN
BABY
Thanks Baby .....well these days.....nostalgia is taking over my life. May be I am getting much older. Kuttimama had once said to me that when you get older your attachment towards your native place and people around that place matter a lot to you...and to narrate events connected to your dear and near ones is an intoxicating and painful pleasure. However, days pass to the ultimate truth...
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments and sentiments.
